Hoan Kiem Lake – Turtle Tower

One Pillar Pagoda
One Pillar Pagoda is one of the most unique pagodas in Vietnam. The temple also known as the Secret Temple, Dien Huu Pagoda or Lotus United. The temple was built in the reign of King Ly Thai Tong. One Pillar Pagoda is a wooden structure, built on a 4m high column. Below is a square Lotus Radio. The roof of the temple is a tile roof, bent at four corners. The upper part of each corner has a double bend.
Temple of Literature
A place not to be missed while touring Hanoi is Van Mieu Quoc Tu Giam. This is considered the first university in Vietnam. Van Mieu Quoc Tu Giam was built in 1070, King Ly Thanh Tong. The purpose of building the Temple of Literature was to worship the saints, monks of Confucianism and a royal school that taught princes, princesses and princes’ children.
